One of my arboreal carpenter ant friends searching for nectar treats on a rattlebox plant (Crotalaria sp.) at Juno Dunes Natural Area. Some plants have extrafloral nectaries that reward ants with nourishing sweet nectar in return for protection from enemies! This one is a major worker.
