View SE toward the end of the line - towards Lewes until 3/58, when the ex-LB&SC line East Grinstead - Lewes was closed: the Bluebell Preservation society took over in 8/60. See TQ4023 : Bluebell Railway train at Sheffield Park in 1961 for further detail: this is the other end of the same train shuttling between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes in June 1961. At the Horsted Keynes end of the train is ex-LB&SC A1X class No. 55 'Stepney' - the first locomotive acquired by the Bluebell Railway (in 5/60); it was built by Stroudley as an A1 class in 12/1875, rebuilt in 10/1912 and beamae BR No. 32655.
