English: Flag of the Zaghawa people of Sudan and Chad, also known as Beri. Their lands were historically known as Dar Zaghawa, or Beri-be in their own language.
The brown border of the flag stands for the blood of the martyrs protecting the land Beri-be. Yellow represents the desert that makes up vast parts of the Beri lands. Green represents environmental protection, agricultural prosperity and green pastures and plains like Wadi Hor. The star represents freedom, future and the strife to attain excellence in knowledge. The dark brown circle in the middle represents wealth. And the four symbols are letters from the Beria language, standing for exactly that, the name of the language.
