Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8)	The scale and nature of the fire engulfing the platform, which ultimately resulted in the catastrophic damage of the whole complex. The image also clearly shows the jet fires from the oil and gas flowlines, a key aspect of offshore platforms failures, as for example had happened to Piper Alpha.
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	There is no free image available of this historic event.
Not replaceable with textual coverage because (WP:NFCC#1)	As far as practicable, I have added text to explain in detail what and how it happened. But this image really gives the sense of scale of the fire and suggests clearly how a fire this size caused a catastrophic platform failure
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	The file is a low-resolution screenshot of the original. The source presentation contained several images, this is only one of them.
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2)	Low-resolution screenshot from the freely consultable pdf document cited. It is only one of several images in said document. The use of a low resolution screenshot from a non-commercial pdf presentation has no commercial impact for the copyright owner.
Other information	The event is of considerable historical significance; it may perhaps be lesser known because it occurred in a developing country, but its prominence in terms of loss of life and financial implications is obvious.
