Summary

Description
English: The Fifth Corps Monument in the Fredericksburg National Cemetery. The monument was dedicated in 1901 and was erected largely through the efforts of Daniel Butterfield, the V Corps commander for the Battle of Fredericksburg. August 2010.

The inscription on the monument reads as follows:

"To Commemorate the Valor
of
The Fifth Corps
Army of the Potomac
and
In Loving Memory of
Its Heroic Dead

This Monument has been Erected by
Major General
Daniel Butterfield U.S.V.
Its Commander on the Field

December 13 1862"
