Summary

Description
English: When alcohol crosses through the placenta, it is circulated throughout the fetus. Alcohol then metabolizes in the tissue. Alcohol and fatty acids synthetase to become FAEE (fatty acid ethyl esters). FAEE is then detected in the meconium, which is the first feces of a newborn. Alcohol particularly affects the heart and brain, and interfere with the fetus receiving sufficient oxygen and nourishment.
