Qian Li - 'A thousand li - Horse named 'The spotted chestnut'-'Hua Liu' could travel a thousand li in one day. This was one of the eight famous steeds of Mu Wang, the fifth sovereign of the Chou Dynasty, who died 946 b.c. [S127] Yu Shih - 'Imperial Analist=Censor'. [R78]

Round images on the halberd imitates two of Ta Ma Ch'ien or 'Great Horse Coins'. These pieces [round horse charms] showing famous horses were used as gaming counters and have been worn as amulets. [R]
