Das 317th Troop Carrier Wing, Medium, war in Neubiberg stationiert vom 17. März 1953 bis zum 16. April 1957 (lt. anderer Quelle bis 14. April 1958). Die abgebildete C-119C mit der Seriennummer s/n 51-2611 war jedoch für nur kurze Zeit in Neubiberg anzutreffen, denn sie wurde vom 23.04.1953 bis 18.09.1956 verliehen an das Royal Aircraft Establishment in Farnborough, England. Schließlich wurde die Maschine an das 465th TCW der USAFE in Évreux-Fauville Air Base in Frankreich rück-überstellt.
