English: FISCHER-HANLON HOUSE LOCATED NEXT TO THE CAPITOL BUILDING WAS ONCE A GOLD RUSH HOTEL. IT WAS BOUGHT BY A SWISS MERCHANT, JOSEPH FISCHER WHO MOVED THE HOUSE TO ITS PRESENT LOCATION. HIS FAMILY OCCUPIED THE HOUSE UNTIL 1969 WHEN IT WAS DONATED TO THE STATE.
