Summary

Description Two U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II of Fighter Squadron VF-103 "Sluggers" in flight near Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada (USA), in February 1982. VF-103 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 17 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CV-59) and made a last deployment flying the Phantom to the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean from 7 June to 16 November 1982. Afterwards, VF-103 converted to the Grumman F-14A Tomcat after having flown the F-4 since 1965.
