The test signal was split into upstream and downstream paths by a directional coupler and digitized with a [1] SDA 816Zi-A oscilloscope.
A filter graph in ngscopeclient was then used to de-embed the coupler response, find edges in the PAM-3 waveform, recover the clock using a PLL, and finally display the eye pattern.
