According to Rowley (2022), the image is the third of three views of a surgery registered on Bigelow's tables for "disease of the fibula" –prosecuted July 3, 1847. Warren assumed responsibility of the surgery, a 19-yr-old Portuguese sailor, named Francis Manuel. Rowley scholarship published online [1]
