Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Ernestine Eckstein |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | This picture will supplement that fact that Ernestine was so unique in her political activism for her time. She is the only woman protesting in this picture, which shows her feminist activism. She was the original individual who brought protesting via picketing to the LGBT movement. This picture is necessary because it shows why she was unique as a bBack activism, a feminist activist, and a lesbian activist. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
Since Ernestine protested in the 1960s, there are very few pictures of her that can be found. This is one of three that I was able to find in my extensive research. There is no alternative, free illustration of her that exemplifies her protesting activism as this one does. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | The use of this file will be minimal in that it will not stretch or alter the image, will not be an unnecessary image, and will be necessary in its use. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
The owner of this image is dead, and the original picture can be found in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building / Manuscripts and Archives Division. Clearly the owner intended for this picture to be viewed by others and preserved. |
