English: Erigeron karvinskianus, an invasive introduced species on Réunion island originally coming from Mexico, is a pioneer plant, the first to grow along the edges of the Route du Volcan (“the Volcano Road”) which leads to the Piton de la Fournaise and which have been red-colored (1,5 % iron oxyd added in the tar) for better suiting with the natural colors of the volcanic rocks.
