Shield of The Episcopal Church (of the USA), TEC, www.anglican.ecusa.org, 10/07/06, TEC, Shield of The Episcopal Church (TEC), is a Cross of St. George (denoting TEC's roots in the Church of England), a blue canton (from the flag of the USA), with nine crosslets (denoting the nine original dioceses of TEC) arranged in a Cross of St. Andrew (signifying TEC's gratitude to the Scottish Episcopal Church which consecrated TEC's first bishops when post-Revolutionary War tensions with England were still raw).

This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1977, inclusive, without a copyright notice.
