DescriptionEliza Quirk Boarding House, Buffalo, New York - 20200303.jpg
English: The Eliza Quirk Boarding House, 72 Sycamore Street, Buffalo, New York, March 2020. Among the oldest remaining buildings (and the few remaining pre-Civil War buildings) in the vicinity of downtown Buffalo, it was built in 1848 and was operated as a boarding house by its namesake, who was famous as a high-class madam. The building is now vacant, but was acquired in 2019 by Preservation Buffalo Niagara who are redeveloping it into low-cost apartments and office space for a local not-for-profit.
