Decommissioned thermoelectric power plant ("Central Tejo"), now converted to an educational museum showing how electricity used to be produced from coal burning and engaging visitors to think about energy sustainability. The museum also has a small art gallery for temporary exhibitions. It consists of several buildings erected at different periods - construction of this one, the largest, started in 1941. It is a wonderful specimen of industrial architecture, not at all out of place in this area of Lisbon, richly endowed with monumental architecture.
