Localizado en la colección de arte del Banco Central de Venezuela. Caracas - Venezuela. Este retrato ha servido de modelo para el diseño de del billete de 100 Bs. de fecha de elisión enero 29, 1980, también fue modelo para el diseño del actual billete de 100 BsF. De fecha de emisión de Marzo 20 2007

Author Aita seudónimo de Rita Matilde de la Peñuela (1840-?)

AITA (seudónimo de Rita Matilde de la Peñuela) Nació en La Habana, Cuba, en 1840; murió en fecha desconocida en París. Era AITA, por lo que sabemos, una artista con escuela y buen gusto. Escaso conocimiento se tiene acerca de sus datos biográficos. Aportan información de ella los estudiosos de la iconografía bolivariana Enrique Uribe White y Alfredo Boulton: "Era AITA originaria de La Habana, Cuba. Se llamaba Rita Matilde de la Peñuela y había nacido en 1840. A la muerte de su padre marchó a París. Hizo algunos retratos, y esta obra (en la Colección del Banco Central de Venezuela) es incuestionablemente su trabajo más importante". 1
