Español: La obra muestra una vista general de la ciudad de Toledo, (España), y con ella El Greco contribuyó a la difusión de la nueva imagen de la ciudad al representar las principales construcciones modernas de aquel momento, que eran el Alcázar, la Puerta Nueva de Bisagra y, sobre todo, el Hospital de Tavera, que predomina sobre todo el conjunto de monumentos. Y al tiempo El Greco soslayó la presencia de la catedral de Toledo y del monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes, que eran los edificios medievales más destacados de la antigua capital del reino visigodo de Toledo.
