Simon Staley with a letter of appointment as the Royal Navy liaison officer to the JMSDF recognizing British and Japanese cooperation in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region during a ceremony aboard the Japanese Battle Ship Mikasa Feb. 17, 2015. Staley is permanently assigned to the U.S. 7th Fleet staff and serves as the liaison officer to both the U.S. 7th Fleet and the JMSDF.
