English: Estonia may be small on the map, but its big with science! The microscopic structure shown on the image was carved onto an aluminum plate with a focused ion beam and "photographed" with a scanning electron microscope, using secondary electrons. As can be seen from the scale bar, the created structure is so small that it can even fit on a human hair. The image was created for educational purposes at one of the practicums at the Institute of Physics, University of Tartu to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Estonian Republic.
