Although the date of the image is only approximate, the picture was published in 1905 and the gentleman died in 1914, so it seems reasonable to assume the thing is more than 100 years old.
I have taken the liberty of reducing the contrast, so this version looks - at least to my eye - slightly less unnatural than the version being used on German wikipedia. Further tweaking by an expert on such matters would probably be helpful, however!
