Barry Hoban (GB - Mercier - 3rd from left) keeps a watchful eye on Eddy Merckx (Belgium - Peugeot - left) as the pro World Championship bunch complete yet another lap of the Nürburgring in Germany (August 1966). The young Merckx went on to finish 35 secs down in 12th place - just behind Felice Gimondi. Only 22 pros were credited with finishing - none from GB. |
