DescriptionEast Finchley Station - geograph.org.uk - 909900.jpg
English: East Finchley Station View of one of the two staircases to the offices above the central tracks at East Finchley Station. This one is on the northbound platforms. The protrusion from the offices on the right of the photo is there to deflect smoke from passing steam locomotives away from the side of the building. Steam locomotives still visited on freight trains until 1961 and diesel after that until the goods yard at East Finchley closed in 1964, info from London's Local Railways by Alan A. Jackson.
