Summary

Description Front page of the "Proceedings of the East Tennessee Convention", published in 1861. The convention consisted of 29 East Tennessee counties and one Middle Tennessee county which met to denounce secession activities within the state and request that the Tennessee state government allow them to form a separate state that would remain part of the U.S.
Date Proceedings took place May 30-31 and June 17-20 in 1861; first published in 1861
