Summary

Description
English: This image was taken during Cassini's first close approach to Enceladus, and was taken in visible light with the Narrow Angle Camera from a distance of approximately 22,330 kilometers (13,880 miles). Resolution in the image is 130 meters (427 feet) per pixel. This view shows a region of grooved terrain known as Samarkand Sulci (just right of center running up-down in the image) as well as a region of smooth (at Voyager resolution) terrain called Sarandib Planitia (upper right).
