English: According to the mythology, Goddess Durga emerged out of the accumulated powers of Gods, their idealism, appurtenances (bahanas), weapons, ornaments and apparels . She united the powers of scattered gods and won the long drawn battle against Mahisasura. In other words Durga united the Gods who were waging individual battles against the asura. Thus Durga personifies unity.
Durga puja is a heritage festival of India. It is most popular among the bengalis in India and throughout the world. This festival shows the true color of India, where Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and other different castes unite together to celebrate this festival. This festival is celebrated throughout the India. This festival gives people courage to fight against evil. Gives power to protest against corruption and gives hope to rise against all boundaries. |
