Summary

Description

This English Stately Home is near Manchester, was built in 1616 and has had various extensions and alterations since.

The hall was used as a military hospital during the First World War and there is an exhibition inside showing what it was like at that time.

The hall was donated to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th and last Earl of Stamford in 1976.

Outside there are extensive grounds and (as you can see) deer roam amongst the visitors.
