Drop_time.jpg (800 × 600 pixels, file size: 73 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

This graph image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Drop time.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Summary

Description
English: The figure shows experimental data for the acoustically measured fall time of a small steel sphere falling from various heights. The data is in good agreement with the predicted fall time of sqrt(2h/g), where h is the height and g is the acceleration of gravity. (Data courtesy of E.R. Courtney.)
