English: Dr. George Petrie was a member of the faculty at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama and the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (both now Auburn University). He was the Professor of History and Modern Languages from 1887-1889, Professor of History and Latin from 1891-1908, Head of the History Department, and Dean of the Graduate School from 1908-1942. This picture was taken in April, 1905 and was used in the 1909 Glomerata.[1]
