English: A cab end view of ex-Goldsworthy Mining LtdEnglish Electric 640kW Bo-Bo diesel-electric loco no. 2, at the Don Rhodes Mining and Transport Museum, Wilson Street, Port Hedland, Western Australia.
This locomotive was manufactured in 1965 by English Electric Co of Australia in Rocklea, Queensland. Together with sister locomotive no 1, it arrived in Port Hedland in December 1965 aboard the freighter I G Nicholson. The two locomotives were too heavy to unload at the jetty, and therefore Utah Dredgings' 76.2 ton lift derrick barge was used to off-load them instead. Both locomotives were then involved in the construction of the Goldsworthy railway between Mt Goldsworthy and Finucane Island.
On 25 May 1966, locomotive no 2 hauled the first ore train from Mt Goldsworthy to Finucane Island. The train consisted of 21 wagons, each carrying 74 tonnes of iron ore.
