English: Nave of Church Santo Stefano Venice. The mausoleum of Venetian condottiero Domenico Contarini, commander at Melegnano battle in 1526, at the rear facade of Santo Stefano church in Venice.
The Baroque church monument was built by his nephews in 1650, and has an equestrian statue in gilded wood. Français : La nef de Santo Stefano à Venise. Le mausolée du condottiere vénitien Domenico Contarini, commandant dans la bataille de Melegnano, en 1526, sur la contre-façade. Il a été érigé par les neveus du chef militaire, le procurateur de Saint Marc Angelo et son frère Domenico Contarini. L'oeuvre date de 1650. Au centre se dresse une statue équestre en bois doré (Le sculpteur reste anonyme). Les deux neveux auraient dû être représentés dans ce monument, mais le seul buste de Angelo fut réalisé et installé sur un piédestal à gauche de la statue. Italiano: Chiesa di Santo Stefano, Venezia. Il mausoleo del condottiero veneziano Domenico Contarini, comandante nella battaglia di Melegnano, nel 1526, si trova sulla controfacciata della chiesa di Santo Stefano a Venezia. Fu eretto dai discendenti nel 1650. Al centro campeggia una statua equestre in legno dorato. |
