Summary
| Description | Yamaha K-340 cassette deck (Euro market model. IMO it's the same as K-400 in North America). Dolby subcircuit. Yamaha has used all sorts of Dolby ICs - Signetics/Philips, Hitachi, but mostly Sony. This is a rare example of a Panasonic Dolby chip in a Yamaha. It's really odd why they shuffled all these chips almost simultaneously, instead of locking on one chosen supplier. At least in case of the Panasonic AN7373 the answer is quite obvious. This wasn't a popular chip, it was discontinued soon, it's not listed on the usual datasheet directory sites... dead end. So they did right to drop it... but why did they use it, in first place? |
