View eastward, towards Wombwell Main Junction and Wath Yard: ex-GC Barnsley avoiding line. The class H frieght is headed by O4/1 2-8-0 No. 63695, which was built in 5/18 as ROD No. 1677 for war service and served in France: after repatriation it was used by the GER for about a year, then put in store at Aintree (L&Y) until purchased by the LNER in 9/25 as No. 6496 (3695 from 1946); as BR No. 63695 it survived until 12/62. The celebrated 2-8-8-2 Garratt had been moved away from the Worsborough Bank in 2/49, so this train is being banked by two 2-8-0s (see SE3004 : Two 2-8-0s banking a westbound freight up Worsborugh Bank towards West Silkstone Junction.
