Description

People decorate inside and outside their homes as Dipavali approaches.

Floors are covered with festive designs. These are called Kolam (South Indian Hindus) or Rangoli (North and West Indian Hindus).

Many homes hang lights as well for Diwali, just like Christmas lights in the Western world.
