English: Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. Scene from a kabuki play. The kabuki actor Nakamura Shikan (Utaemon IV) as Ikkyu Taro (left) holding down an opponent with one hand, extends his sword towards Segawa Kikunojo (right) as the courtesan, Jigoku-dayu, who wears robes decorated with scenes of hell, holds up a whisk.
