DescriptionDilapidated apartment yard in Regent Park (44731511740).jpg
These apartments were built as part of a community housing project meant to house low-income families in the Cabbagetown area in a new neighbourhood called Regent Park in the 1950s. Regent Park, however, continued on with its reputation of being a high crime area plagued with xenophobia of immigrants and low-income households. These buildings are slated for demolition in yet another "revitalization" program—AKA gentrification. Will it actually work or is history just repeating itself again?
