Summary

Description

We start November with a stay in the Devonshire Arms Hotel in Lismore, one of the most beautiful areas in Ireland. Rich with castles, trees and the beautiful Blackwater River - what better place to spend an Autumn day?

With thanks to all for the contributions below, we learned that the hotel (now the Lismore House Hotel) dates from the 1790s, and the monumental fountain (the Ambrose Power Memorial) to the 1870s. When the picture itself was taken, and what the young chaps are up to is still the subject of some debate...
