Depicted is a scene from the 50th day celebration of the birth of Prince Atsuhira-shinnō (later Emperor Go-Ichijō). Fujiwara no Michinaga, the prince's grandfather is depicted at the bottom offering mochi. The servant at the bottom right might be Murasaki Shikibu.
