English: This is a picture of the Moaning Caverns in Vallecito California. Native Americans used the cave for protection until it was eventually abandoned. Gold Minors eventually found it again in 1940. Later, writings were found from some of the minors claiming that when they reached the bottom instead of gold they found a mound of human skeletons. The Native Americans named it the Moaning Caverns because of the sound it emitted, which they said was a stone giant named Yayalli. In reality, the sound is just water dripping from the stalactites. The cave descends over 165 feet and when all the lights are turned off, it is one of the few places on earth that receives no light at all.
