Description
Nederlands: Uit het Bronnenboekje bij het Examen Havo 2011 (Tijdvak 1) komt de volgende toelichting: Tussen 1648 en 1651 schildert Abraham Lambertsz. van den Tempe in opdracht van het stadsbestuur van Leiden een drietal grote schilderwerken met allegorische voorstellingen voor de nieuwe Lakenhal. In dit schilderij uit 1651 is het thema 'de Nering' (hier: de Leidse lakennijverheid). Van links naar rechts stellen de figuren op de voorgrond voor: Minerva (godin van de Wijsheid) en Mercurius (god van de Handel), de Vrede (knielend), de stedenmaagd Leiden, de Nering.
