MOMPER, Joos de
(b. 1564, Antwerpen, d. 1634/35, Antwerpen)
Mountain Landscape
1620s
Oil on canvas, 209 x 286 cm
Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna
In Joos de Momper's later work, produced after 1620, there are no essential changes in structure or composition compared with his earlier paintings. He continue to produce both mountainous and flat landscapes, but shows a noticeable preference for large sizes.
The figures in the present painting were executed by Hans III Jordaens.
