Purpose of use |
The image serves an informational and educational purpose as the primary means of illustrating two key bodies of work and a critical period in the artist's practice and technique: 1) his meta-paintings, which were re-processings of masterworks of the art canon of the 2010s; and 2) his multi-canvas installations of various types of paintings of the 2000s and 2010s. Because the article is about an artist and his work, the omission of the image would significantly limit a reader's understanding and ability to visualize these bodies of work and late period in his art. Klamen’s works of these types were discussed in the article (including this particular work) and have been exhibited and discussed in detail by numerous art critics cited in the article. |
Replaceable? |
There is no free equivalent of this or any other of this series by Klamen’s, so the image cannot be replaced by a free image. |
Other information |
The image will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original due to its low resolution and the general workings of the art market, which values the actual work of art. Because of the low resolution, illegal copies could not be made. |
