English: Preserved Davey Paxman 6VN engine and generator during an open day on 14 April 2024 celebrating Marlborough Electric Power Board/Marlborough Lines centenary. The engine and generator was built and installed in 1930 to supplement the Waihopai hydroelectric dam in supplying the Marlborough region. It was used regularly until 1958 when the Marlborough region was connected to the rest of the South Island electric grid, when it remained in standby use until its retirement in 1992. It is the only six-cylinder VN engine built by Davey Paxman, and the only one still in working order.
