Description
English: Postage stamp (40×30mm) valued 5 pence issued by the Irish postal service on 28 March 1974 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The stamp depicts the lifeboat Mary Stanford rescuing seamen from the lightship Daunt during a hurricane in 1936.(Stamp designer: Michael Byrne, incorporating a painting by Bernard Gribble.)
