Summary

Description

I went to Shelburne, Nova Scotia for a journey to McNutts Island, this is the start of that adventure. I was early and was lucky to get some shots of this beautiful tall ship.

Tall Ship Larinda was built as a replica of the 1760 Schooner “Sultana”, Larinda has sailed the globe in many Tall Ship Parades of Sail and has won numerous awards from festivals, events and competitions around the world.

Designed and built over a thirty year period as a modified replica of a 1767 Boston Schooner. Larinda is a unique vessel with modern safety features. yet she retains traditional wood appointments and museum quality. Much of her construction was done with recycled 100-year-old long leaf hard pine.

A restored 1928, 8-tons 4-cylinder, 100Hp, Wolverine Diesel Engine, provides auxiliary power of this beautiful ship. Her 300 lb. bronze firing cannons add period excitement, featured in publications worldwide.
