Mit diesem Stellarator wurde 1967 am Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik in Garching erstmals ein torusförmiges Plasma realisiert. Den Torus umschliessen mehrere wassergekühlte Spulen. Rund um den Torus sind mehrere Öffnungen für Messsonden angebracht, mit denen das Plasma untersucht wurde.
