English: „Gules, a women Argent, in her right a palm branch Or and in the left an anchor Or.“ The arms were granted in 1958. The arms first appear on a banner of the local guild from 1796, and they appear again on local money from 1921. The municipality did not use any arms between 1921 and 1958. According to legend, the figure is St Reinhildis, who, supposedly, originated from the village. Originally, the saint held three golden wheat ears, but these were in 1958 replaced by the palm leave. The anchor in the arms is taken from the arms of the County Tecklenburg, part of the County of Lingen (the district Lingen also uses the anchor).
