Deutsch: In den Orten der Verbandsgemeinde Bodenheim übten vor der Französischen Revolution das Hochstift Mainz und verschiedene Mainzer Stifte und Klöster, namentlich das Domstift, Hoheitsrechte aus und hatten ausgedehnte Besitzungen. Für die Vielzahl der geistlichen Grundherren stehen das silberne Rad in Rot für das Hoch- und der von Rot und Silber geteilte Querbalken für das Domstift. Hauptwirtschaftsgrundlage der Gemeinde ist heute der Weinbau; hierfür steht die Traube. Auf diese Weise vereint das Wappen der Verbandsgemeinde Bodenheim Geschichte mit der Wirtschaftsform der Gegenwart. |
