Deutsch: Der schwarze Löwe auf silbernem Feld entstammt dem Wappen der Ritter von Spay, den mittelalterlichen Grundherren, die goldene Kirche repräsentiert die gotische Peterskapelle aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, die blaue Wellenspitze symbolisiert den Rhein, an dem Spay liegt, und der goldene Schiffspropeller weist auf den Schottel-Ruderpropeller hin, der seit 1950 von der Schottel GmbH am Ort entwickelt und vertrieben wird.
